What is Kevlar Rope?

Kevlar rope is made from aramid fibers, which are among the strongest synthetic fibers. Kevlar is lightweight, but offers strength far greater than that of steel. It is often used in applications that require extreme strength and resistance to abrasion, such as aerospace, defense and heavy industry.

Kevlar ropes are particularly good at withstanding tensile force, abrasion and heat, making them ideal for climbing, rescue operations, pulling heavy loads, and even building strength-testing systems.

Versions

In the range of kevlar ropes, we have 2 versions:

Pure/pure kevlar

Kevlar with polyester sheath

The pure kevlar rope is 100% kevlar and is flat braided. We only have this rope in 3 mm diameter, but on request we can make other diameters

The kevlar with polyester comes in the version with black sheath. This makes for a nice supple, round rope.

The black polyester is highly UV resistant and the core is kevlar.

Advantages of Kevlar Rope

Exceptional Strength.

Kevlar rope has extremely high tensile strength, meaning it is capable of carrying heavy loads without breaking. It is up to five times stronger than steel at equal mass, making it ideal for heavy industrial applications and extreme environments.

Heat resistance

Kevlar is resistant to high temperatures, making it ideal for use in heat-sensitive environments such as aviation, firefighting operations, and even automotive applications.

But in situations where high temperatures are created by friction, kevlar rope really comes into its own.

Lightweight

Kevlar rope is lightweight, which means it is easier to handle than other heavy materials such as steel, without sacrificing strength. This makes it an excellent choice for applications such as rope for winch systems and rescue rope.

Abrasion resistance

Thanks to Kevlar's exceptional abrasion resistance, this rope can retain its properties even under heavy use. This makes it a durable choice for all types of applications, from heavy industrial tasks to sports and recreational activities.

Weather resistance

Kevlar rope is resistant to most chemicals, UV rays and the effects of salt water, making it suitable for marine and outdoor environments.

Applications of Kevlar Rope

Our Kevlar ropes are versatile and can be used for many different applications:

- Rope for Industrial Applications: Kevlar rope is suitable for use in industries such as mining, oil and gas, and for pulling heavy loads.

- Kite Rope: Kevlar is used in kite ropes for its strength and ability to perform under pressure without breaking.
